Synthetic Lawns versus Natural Grass

Lawns can be natural and synthetic. Natural grass grows in many places and is recognized for use in sports and leisure as seen in gardens, soccer pitches, race courses, roadsides and city parks. However, synthetic lawns are manufactured simulating natural grass with whole range of applications for which natural grass doesn't have good qualities. There are several considerations in addition to the waterless features. BENEFITS OF NATURAL TURF AND SYNTHETIC LAWNS Natural Turf • Grass surfaces are resilient, renewable, water-permeable and provide solid footing and cushioning • They reduce noise levels and improve air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and pollen • They have the potential for long life, with proper seeding and watering • They are less expensive to install than simulated grass • And to purists, natural turf simply looks good Synthetic Lawns • Synthetic lawns are waterless • New versions of such waterless lawns simulate the natural resilience of real grass • Eliminates the need for polluting lawn mowers and pesticides and expensive watering • Do not wear out extending possible playing time • Reduces dust and eliminates mud, rocks and divots • Artificial lawns provide uses for recycled tires • Less expensive to maintain than natural turf DISADVANTAGES OF NATURAL TURF AND SYNTHETIC LAWNS Natural Turf • Real grass beats down easily and dries slowly - limiting playing time • It is expensive to maintain including expenditures of water, lawn chemicals, gasoline farm owners and extensive hand labor Synthetic Lawns • The jury is still out on injuries and field sanitation of artificial lawns • Waterless lawns can heat up fast and hot in the summer • Sub-layers of specialized sand and rubber granules maybe hard to recycle when placed in an artificial lawn • Life spans of art lawn are 10 to 15 years, but with some matting and gashes that may occur in the meantime
